Acetone is found in cologne, dishwasher liquid, detergent and nail varnish remover. It is on the EPA, RCRA, CERCLA Hazardous Waste lists. Inhalation can cause dryness of the mouth and throat; dizziness, nausea, lack of coordination, slurred speech, drowsiness, and, in severe exposures, coma. It Acts primarily as a central nervous system (CNS) depressant.
Benzaldehyde is found in perfume, cologne, hairspray, laundry bleach, deodorants, detergent, Vaseline, shaving cream, shampoo, bar soap and dishwasher detergent. It can have the effects of a local anesthetic or CNS depressant and can cause irritation to the mouth, throat, eyes, skin, lungs, and GI tract, causing nausea and abdominal pain. It has a possible relation to kidney damage.
Benzyl Acetate is found in perfume, cologne, shampoo, fabric softener, air freshener, dishwasher liquid and detergent, soap, hairspray, bleach, after shave and deodorants. A possible carcinogenic, (linked to pancreatic cancer) the vapors can irritate the eyes and respiratory passages.
